My Summer Reading List!

Hello to you!

Recently I have not been reading as much because I read everything online now, and I have missed sitting down and reading a good book. I actually went shopping again today (haul post coming up soon) and I went into a bookshop and bought 2 books. Normally my mum buys all my books for me online and I don't think I have ever gone into a bookshop and bought a book with my own money before! Anyway, I forgot how much I loved reading so it inspired me to make this list. Some of these books I have read before and some I am waiting to read, but overall I think this is a list that could be enjoyed by anyone.

1. The Fault in Our Stars (By John Green) - I don't even know where to start with this book. The first time I read it I saw down and completely finished it in one go, I couldn't put it down! It is heartbreaking but funny at the same time, and it is my favourite book at the moment. I L-O-V-E this book and I think everyone needs to read it! I bought my own copy of it today, and I think I am emotionally prepared to re-live the story.

2. The Perks of being a Wallflower (By Stephen Chbosky) - I have only just finished reading this book, and it was a really great read and it was not how I expected it would be at all! I've heard a lot about this story before and although I think it is a great book and an interesting story, I do think it is a bit overrated. I don't know if I was a bit young for it and I didn't fully understand the meaning behind it (this could be a possibility), but it was a really nice laid-back type of book to read so I will definitely be re-reading this one in the future!

3. The Bower Bird (By Ann Kelly) - I got this book from my gran at Christmas age 12, and I think it was a book for slightly older teens but I loved this book a lot and it remained my favourite books for a good few years. (I would just like to mention that I was always that one child who read books meant for older readers, and in year 4 I had a 'reading age' of 16! Crazy stuff hey.) - I definitely need to re-read this as I haven't read it in a while but it's absolutely brilliant and I am so glad I read it!

4. 13 Reasons Why (By Jay Asher) - My best friend gave me a copy of this book to read ages ago, and I have a copy for myself now as I really enjoyed reading it! I feel like it is definitely one of those books you need to re-read to fully understand the plot line but it is written really interestingly and I enjoyed it a lot! I also need to re-read this book again because I haven't read it in a while, but it is always one of my favourite books to recommend to people. Thanks for lending me a copy of it Mabel! I wouldn't have discovered it otherwise! :D

5. King Dork (By Frank Portman) - One of my favourite youtubers Carrie Fletcher (itswaypastmybedtime) recommended this in one of her latest videos and it sounds like a really good book! I looked for it today but they had ran out of copies unfortunately. It sounds like a great read, so I will definitely try to find a copy of it somewhere and save it for a read on the train. I'll keep you updated on what I think of it!

I was going to include a few more books but I feel 5 would be a good start. Let me know in the comments if any of you guys have read these books, and what do you think about them? I'll probably do another post like this in a few months time, and it is different from my regular type of posts so I hope you guys liked it. Let me know if you will be giving any of these a read, i'd love to hear what you think!

p.s I have a haul post coming up very soon, so look forward to that! :D

Boots/Superdrug Haul!

Hello to you!

So I have no self control when it comes to shopping, so me + wages is a VERY bad mix! I spent around £50 in less than an hour today, and I figured I would show you what I bought. I also bought some shoes from peacocks so I thought I would include them in this too.

Superdrug purchases - Left to Right: Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner, Garnier Mineral Anti-perspirant, NYC HD Colour Quatro Eyeshadow Palette, Sleek i-Divine Storm Palette, Cosmopolitan Eyeshadow Brush.

Boota purchases - Left to Right: Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash, Glad Hair Day Shampoo & Conditioner, Simple Refreshing Facial Wash Gel, Maybelline Falsies Mascara, Carmex Moisture Plus, 17 Doll'd Up Mascara.

So it looks like I bought a lot but my excuse is my dad is moving house and I need to buy some more things for the house! Obviously this is a terrible excuse but I needed something.

I went to Peacocks a few weeks ago and I saw these shoes and fell in love with them, and I saw them again when I went last week so today I said if I went there and they were still half price (£12), I would buy them. WHOOPS! I like them, but I can't walk in them for more than about 10 minutes;)

I am very happy I bought all these products, if you would like to see any of these reviewed then let me know and i'll get round to it ASAP! :)

Hope you enjoyed reading this haul post, do you guys have any of these products? What do you think about them? Let me know in the comments, and thanks for reading!

Makeup Collection and Storage - Before!

Hello to you!

So I am currently trying to fill up my makeup drawers and I thought I would do before/after posts so you guys can see how I get on! I will do a youtube video for my 'after' showing if you guys want to see that. Anyway, let me tell you what I have so far! I am not going to include the names of all these products but if you would like me to go into a bit of detail on a particular drawer then let me know so I can list all the products for you. :)

In the top left drawer, I keep all my lip products in here. I am trying to keep the drawers organised but I am gradually collecting more and more lip products so I have to keep on sorting through and chucking the ones I don't use!

This is the top middle drawer, and I keep my mascaras/eyeliners and eyeshadow pots in here. I normally stick to eyeshadow palettes so I need to buy some more individual eyeshadow colours really!

The top right drawer is my 'tools' drawer and I am waiting to build up a big brush collection (my other brushes are at my mum's house) so I can keep them separate from these drawers! I've misplaced my eyelash curlers but normally they would be in here.

This is my 'palette' drawer and I want to get every single one of the MUA eyeshadow palettes, and i'm planning on collecting the Sleek palettes too!

This is my 'skin' drawer with all my basic face products. I really hope to buy a few more of these little Sleek blushes as they are only £4.49 and they are so pigmented and lovely!

This is basically my miscellaneous drawer, and this is where I keep all the stuff that doesn't fit under makeup/beauty stuff! I'll run through this drawer quickly because it's not really beauty products. In here I have makeup wipes, a face mask, a little box of notes, hairbands, travel sized sun screen, candles, roll-on spot thingy (don't know what to call it), hand sanitizer, and a list of products from a local company that use all natural ingredients as I was going to mention a few of these products on here!

So I am going to do a blog post in a few months time when I have (hopefully) filled up these drawers a little more, then I will make a video with more detail about the products!

Hope you enjoyed taking a little peek into my current makeup collection, if you want me to give you any more detail on any of these drawers then let me know! If you recognise a product and you want to see it reviewed, let me know and i'll get round to it soon :) thanks for reading!

July/August Favourites (All products under £10!)

Hello to you!

So I feel I never do blog posts about my favourite products, and as we are already 1/3 of the way through August (doesn't time fly?!) I felt I should do this! I have been using a few new products recently and you may recognise some from recent hauls, and some are my staple products so there will probably be a few familiar products here! Anyway, let's get going :)

Collection Multiplier Mascara - I really love this mascara because it adds loads of length and volume to my lashes, and for only £3.99 you can't go wrong! This is my go-to mascara as it is really good quality for a bargain price! It does smudge a little bit by the end of the day but it lasts really well and is easy to take off with make-up wipes or cleanser at the of the day. I have bought this mascara many times and I think it is really great, especially if you are starting your makeup collection! My only other criticism would be that the design on the packaging rubs off really quickly but apart from that, I think it's brilliant. Buy HERE for £3.99!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - I have a bit of an obsession with concealers but this is by FAR my favourite! It has a really nice coverage and is perfect for a natural look as it doesn't go flakey like a lot of concealers do throughout the day! If you wanted to go for a less heavy makeup look, you could use this and a bit of mascara and you would be set! Once again, the only criticism I have of this products is the writing on the packaging rubs of really quickly too. Overall, this is a great products and I would definitely recommend it to anyone! Buy HERE for only £4.19!

Bourjois Delice De Poudre Bronzing Powder - I didn't used to wear bronzer but now I love it, this is my favourite because it is really easy to control whether you want a subtle effect or a quite heavy look, it smells like chocolate powder and I love the packaging! It is really nicely pigmented and lasts really well throughout the day! Buy HERE for £6.99

Sleek Pout Polish - Recently I have been loving Sleek, and when I was there I decided to buy this pout polish in 'Frosting'. I love this because it is really moisturising and doesn't dry out my lips at all, it works really well without making them sticky like some lipglosses do! I love the hint of colour and I think it looks great on its own or on top of a lipstick. Love this! The only downside is that it is so sweet it can taste a bit weird on your lips sometimes, but nevertheless I love it! Buy HERE for £4.49.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo - I have heard people rave about these before so I desparately wanted to try them! These colour tattooos are like cream eyeshadows that can be used on their own or as a base. I got mine in Permanent Taupe, and I think it works brilliantly! I have been using it as a base for my MUA Heaven and Earth eyeshadow palette because it works really well and keeps the powder eyeshadow in place a lot better. This lasts really well throughout the day, and I will definitely be going back and buying a few more of these! I think they're great. Buy HERE for £4.99!

So they are all my current favourites, let me know if you like these type of blog posts and I will try to do more of them in the future! If you want to see a more detailed review of any of the products I have mentioned in this post, let me know and i'll get round to it ASAP :) Hope you enjoyed reading! What are your current favourites? Do you have any of the products mentioned above? Let me know in the comments!

The future, teenagers, respect and ramblings...

Hello to you!

So this is probably going to be a little bit of a rambly post, but I want to share my thoughts here on my blog so I feel this is worth writing.

I am going into year 11 this year and this means I need to start seriously thinking about what I want to do at college, or what jobs I may want to do when I am older. There will be a LOT of pressure on me this year if I want to do the college courses I am thinking about, so let's hope I don't have a mental breakdown!

Let's say the average person has 80 years on earth. This mean I have already used up 3/16ths of my life already, and I need to make something of my life with the 13/16ths I have left! Everyone wants to make a difference and do something with their lives, and this is why our younger years are so important. If we dropped out of school at a young age, it would be a lot harder to get our lives back on track without the qualifications for a good job!

They says that you should always do a job that makes you happy and money isn't everything, but if you are working at a badly paid job life can be harder. In reality, you need your job for money so you can live your life - what you don't want to end up doing is working at a job you hate for money so you have enough to survive and carry on doing that job that you hate until you retire. No one wants to live like this, and so I want to be able to do a job that I enjoy as well as earning enough for a good life outside my job!

Changing topics slightly - I read a quote recently that said "Teenager: treated like kids, expected to act like adults." This made me think a lot because it is very true. Many teenagers are still treated like kids even though we will soon be deciding what we want to do with our adult lives! This frustrates me a lot. Recently I went to a festival where you stayed in "circles" - you were with a group of people who you ate dinner with and everyone helped around the circle, except me and a few others felt that the teenagers and slightly younger people were being treated unfairly and weren't being given much respect. I had a great conversation with one of the 11 year olds there, and she was so mature and intelligent for her age even though the adults were treating her like a 5 year old who didn't know anything. We decided that at dinner we would speak to the adults about how we felt we were being treated, and some of them were quite patronising. Although we are younger than them, we are still human and we have feelings and opinions too. When teenagers find adults who will listen to what we have to say, we appreciate them a lot because as teenagers we often feel like no one is willing to listen to what we think. We had a good discussion at this dinner about respect and I thought we would actually be listened to for once but unfortunately this was not the case. Much later on in the evening when I came back to my circle to get a drink, I overheard some of the adults laughing about how we said that respect goes both ways and how we feel that everyone needed to be listened to, no matter what the age. Needless to say, I left the circle and went back to the others feeling very angry about this. I thought they were going to take us seriously but apparently some adults are more close-minded than I thought!

I know it sounds like I am just nagging on, but I feel that a lot of adults forget that we are under a lot of pressure from school and society and we just want to have a voice in our world too. Just because we are younger, it doesn't mean we are stupid.

I have decided that every now and then I am going to write a blog post about my views on current events going on and things like that, as I feel it is important for adults to realise that our lives don't just revolve around internet and messing around. This will still mostly be a beauty/fashion/lifestlye blog, but I want to talk about other issues as well sometimes. Do any of you feel like this? Or did you feel like this as a teenager? Let me know in the comments because I know I can't be the only one.

Boots & Superdrug Haul

Hello to you!

So first of all I want to apologise for not posting this week, I've been away at a festival and there wasn't any decent signal so I couldn't update you with what was happening! I had a great time though. Before I went away, I may have accidentally gone to Boots and Superdrug to spend some of my money from work! Anyway, I thought that I would do a little haul post as I haven't done one in the while. (I also want to say sorry for the horrific picture quality, normally they come out clearer than this and I think the camera quality has been playing up a bit!)

Left to right: Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder in 51, Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe, Revlon Lip Butter in 053 Sorbet,Sleek Blush in Pixie Pink, Sleek Pout Polish in 962 Frosting, Collection 24 Hour Extreme Felt Tip Liner, MUA Lipstick in shade 6, MUA Mega Volume Mascara.

(I hope this is a slightly clearer picture!)

What each products looks like, in case you're interested.

So I bought these 3 from Boots. I love the colour of the Revlon Lip Butter, except now because I have pink hair I feel a bit like a cartoon character when I wear it! The colour is very bright but if you only apply a little bit it gives a subtle hint of colour which I like.

These are the products I bought from boots. I didn't really need to buy the mascara, but it was only like £2 so you can't really go wrong with that. I am so glad we now have a Sleek counter in the Superdrug where I live, makes life so much better!

So I hope you enjoyed seeing what I bought, and if you want to see any of these products reviewed then let me know because I would love to do it! Do any of you have some of these products? What do you think about them? Let me know in the comments!
