Some retro/vintageness for you all...

Hello to you!

I wish I could say I had time to do a good long post today but I don't, and I didn't want to leave you with nothing so I thought I would collect some nice retro and vintage pictures for you all. I liked finding these pictures, and I am aware that some are more modern than others but I like them all because they have a nice old fashioned sense about them. Enjoy!

Evolution of styles here.

Reminds me of Cath Kidston!

Love these dresses...

I know this isn't clothes related, but I like it anyway :)

Some retro American-ness!

This picture is so cool!

I am aware this is Marina & The Diamonds but it looks retro...

Ok thanks for looking at this incredibly short post! Will be posting regular things soon, just have to catch up with all my work and stuff :) see you all in a few days! Until then...

Dolly Bow Bow Website Review

Hello to you!

You may have heard of dollybowbow.co.uk which is basically an online website that sells clothes, jewellery, headwear, and home/gift products. This is run by Kate Murnane, who also posts youtube videos which are mostly about beauty products and such. If you want to see her videos, click HERE :)

Anyway, today I decided to do a quick review of her website. I have not yet ordered any of her stuff as I still need to sort out my bank details, but I have been looking at her website for a long time and I really love it. (Side note - I will also do reviews on the other parts of the website, but this post took longer than I expected and I probably need to start doing some coursework, so it's going to be a series of reviews instead.) Enjoy!

Design

I like the layout of her website because it's really simple to follow and it looks awesome! There is a toolbar at the top to navigate around the website, and if you hover on the options it will give you more specific choices of what you want to look at.

Clothes

As there has recently been a sale on the website, there is not a massive selection of clothes left (most are out of stock) but i'll show you some pictures of my current favourites anyway:

1. Bella Lace Playsuit (Black) Sale price - currently £9

Personally I really like this because I think it is simple so you could wear it casually or really dressy. I would love to buy this as I think it would be perfect at festivals, and if you don't want your legs on show then you could buy a pair of colourful tights to 'set' the outfit - I think it would look great! I really want to buy this as it is simple, so you can decorate it with different accessories.

2. Disco Pants (Black) Price - £23

These disco pants have only just come in stock so I am very excited about these, at first I wasn't so keen on them and I wasn't ever going to buy them as they were only stocked in American Apparel for about £78 I think. I was SO HAPPY when she put these in stock! To some people, £23 can be a bit much seeing as they are a bit like shiny leggings but from what i've heard, they go with any outfit so I think the price is pretty darn good. Again, I would love to wear these at a festival as they are a bit more daring than regular leggings and trousers!

 3. Fisherman Knit Jumpers (Mint and Pink) Price - £21

I think these jumpers are really nice, as they are colourful but not too over the top. The knitted patterns are really sweet, and I think it is perfect for staying warm and looking nice at the same time! (Definitely a must have top if you live in England, it's probably a good idea to invest in a good pair of gloves as well...) For me, these jumpers are a tad too expensive but they are really sweet and I probably will end up buying one. Even if it was only a few quid less, I would be slightly more encourage to buy it! I need to get a job. *Watch this space!*

4. Reese Floral Skinny Jeans (Floral) Sale Price - currently £12

I think these are really sweet and would make any outfit instantly awesome. You could wear a simple top with this and add a statement necklace, and BAM you have a lazy but pretty outfit in minutes. I love these because they are bright and interesting to look at, I definitely would like to buy these!

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed! I will do reviews on the other parts of her website like I said earlier, but I really need to catch up with my work so i'll leave you with this for now. Definitely check out the website properly as there is some gorgeous stuff, and maybe you will find something you really like that I won't have mentioned! Let me know what you think in the comments :)

Friday Rewind: H&M

Hello to you! Yesterday I tried uploading a post about the day, but for some reason my e-mail address was not sending the pictures so I couldn't do it. Luckily i've sorted the problem now! Yesterday I went into town to get my new glasses with my friend Jazel (Yes, Hazel with a J - she's new to the school) and we were going to be meeting another one of our friends there. Her name is Jule (pronounced You-La...she's a German Exchange student) but unfortunately she was running a bit late, and me and Jazel were freezing so we decided to go into H&M.

We walked around for a bit before I decided that we should pick out 5 random tops and try them on, so...we did! These were some of the pictures:

The first tops we tried on...Jazel chose a grey jumper with glass beads which was really cool.
I really liked this jumper because it had loads of detailed colouring! From a distance, it just looks rather green-y but it's very pretty when you take a good look at it. Thumbs up from me!

Next outfit...Jazel chose an off-the-shoudler butterfly top and I chose a lace t-shirt that said 'Stay great'. I think it would be a nice thing to wear for loads of different occasions! Another thumbs up.
These tops we were not as keen on...mine was more like a dress than a top, and it was very unflattering. If I wore a bright coloured belt with it, maybe it would look nicer on me but not today H&M! Thumbs down for now, but watch this space...!
Jazel chose a more blouse-y top that had studs all over it. We agreed she looked like a cowboy! Thumbs down for this outfit.
 Cheesy smiles here!
This top was definitely a no-no. I guess for big occasions it would be alright, but it was far too dressy for me! I'm sure you could make it way less dressy depending on what you wore with it, but personally I wasn't to keen on it. Thumbs down!
This top I picked out because I thought it would be good to wear at festivals and such, but after I tried it on I realized I didn't really like it. Oh well! Thumbs down.

Can't finish without a silly picture.

Overall, some of the tops were quite nice but didn't suit me for any particular reason! I'll probably come back and buy some and see what I can do with them :)

After we had put all the clothes back on the coathangers, we didn't want the fitting rooms assistant to think we weren't going to buy anything so we gave him 2 of the tops and puts the other 3 back ourselves! Oh how sad are we.

By this time, Jule had arrived so we rang her to say we were by H&M - she said she was standing outside but me and Jazel couldn't see her so we were wondering where she was? Suddenly we heard a dog barking but I heard it through the phone as well, so I turned around to see Jule almost walking right past us! It was very funny. Then we walked up to poundland to buy some food because we were all hungry at this point, and we were going to go to my house to watch a film.

When we got home, the TV decided to stop working...not very useful when we wanted to watch a film! So instead, we decided to take some pictures.

Jule trying her first creme egg! Can't believe she's never had one before :O

We got bored...and there are a few more pictures that Jule took with her amaaaazing camera! (Was ridiculously expensie but I think it would be worth it - what do you think?)
Anyway, we left my house to drop them home before 6...and an hour later, we got home! Such a long journey! My friend Faye came round afterwards, and of course we took a photo oppurtunity of us all wearing our glasses:

Some lovely faces there. Well that was pretty much a summary my friday, thanks for reading! What do you normally do on fridays? Any weekly traditions? Let me know in the comments!
